Help us grow Barrington Indivisible
With escalating attacks, increased use of force in our neighborhoods, and growing threats to our constitutional rights, knowing your rights is no longer optional. It is essential.
Join us for a Know Your Rights training led by ICIRR on Friday, January 16, from 6:00–8:30 PM at the Barrington Area Library (RSVP required - Seating is limited.) This workshop is designed to inform and empower immigrant families, employees, and community members with clear, practical information about immigrant rights, how to handle encounters with immigration enforcement, and what resources are available to support loved ones.
We will also be assembling whistle kits for attendees to take home and to donate to organizations across our community as a tangible way to look out for one another.
Join us for our first Town Hall of 2026 on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. We will share our plans and priorities for the year ahead and invite your ideas and input as we shape our work together. You will also learn practical social media strategies you can use to help amplify our message, hear about the Illinois Fair Maps Initiative, and have the opportunity to meet candidates running for Illinois Comptroller.
We will collect items for JOURNEYS | The Road Home. This community-based nonprofit serves Chicago’s north and northwest suburbs by providing shelter and critical services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their housing. You can find a list of needed items here - Wish List
We look forward to seeing you on January 13 as we gear up for an active and impactful 2026!

Spotify is running ads recruiting agents for ICE -- the federal agency charged with mass deportation and ripping apart immigrant communities. These ads target vulnerable populations and recruit people by promising signing bonuses. Over the past year, ICE has normalized fear and intimidation in our neighborhoods. That's why we launched a new campaign to hold Spotify accountable.
To make matters worse, Spotify acknowledged the ads, and they claim the ads comply with their policy. We don't think we should support a service that doesn't think streaming government propaganda and hate-based recruitment campaigns should violate their policies.
What you can do:
Go to spotify.com/account and log in.
Click “Cancel Premium” (or “Cancel Subscription”).
We encourage you to leave a note explaining your cancellation. You can write something like, “Canceling until Spotify terminates ICE ads.”
Follow the prompts to confirm cancellation. Your Premium benefits will continue until the end of your billing period, then your account will revert to the free plan.
Don't use Spotify? Help us spread the word on social media so that those who DO can cancel their subscription.
And, we even have tips on alternative streaming platforms you can use, plus instructions for how to move your playlists to those streaming services. For more tips on how to participate in this important campaign, go ahead and check out our Cancel Spotify page.
